Final Lap Amateur Motocross Magazine is a FREE monthly publication covering the fast growing, grass roots of amateur motocross in the United States. Final Lap was started in December 2001 by publisher Bill Clifton. Clifton, a past and current amateur motocross rider, grew up in Southern California with a tremendous passion for the sport of motocross since he was a child. Clifton, a true grass roots, out of the pocket type of racer, saw a need for amateurs to get more recognition for the traveling and racing they do. After a couple of key meetings with advisors and friends, he went off and bought a new camera and started hitting the local tracks for some photo practice. Right before going to print with the premier issue, Clifton met up with Mike “Sir Smiley” Ryer. Ryer, a part time photographer, was new to the motorcycle industry but was also a big enthusiast of the sport. Ever since, the two of them have devoted their time to giving amateur motocross riders the acknowledgement they deserve.

With a lot of hard work and confidence, the premier issue debuted as a regional publication with 48 pages of newsprint and a glossy color cover covering the So-Cal Motocross scene. The entire book boasted about 20 pages of color and the balance was in black and white. After making such a strong impact on the So-Cal amateur racing community, they decided to take it to the next level by going national in 2003. Today, Final Lap continues to dominate the amateur motocross scene with a full 100 pages of glossy color, in depth racing coverage, and personal interviews with amateurs and industry individuals. Final Lap has become the best amateur motocross magazine in the U.S. and is still available for the same great price of FREE. That's right FREE!
